Help Increase Food Access in Watauga County!

Thank you to everyone who has invested in ATG so far this year through either a CSA Membership or a donation to the Cost Share Program!

We are posting today with a call to help put fresh produce on your neighbor’s table through a donation to ATG's Cost Share Fund. (Cost share funds go toward off setting the cost of an Against the Grain CSA share for a local family.)

We have launched a GoFundMe page HERE!

We are also offering a merchandise pre-sale (grab a t-shirt, hat or tote bag) HERE!

All proceeds go to support the Cost Share Program!

Watauga County is 98th among 100 NC counties for residents who live below the already too low poverty line, with more than 1 out of 4 residents struggling to meet high rents, fuel costs, and basic needs.

Poverty and food scarcity in families often hits growing children especially hard.  In Watauga county, 78% of public school students are eligible for free & reduced school lunch, meaning many children may have one full meal a day, less in the summer.

Although ATG has offered cost shares since 2017, in order to provide reduced and free CSA shares to food-insecure families, a surprise gift of $2,000 in 2020 empowered the farm to reach several new families. The families were grateful for the fresh supply of lettuce, greens, squash, tomatoes, radishes, potatoes, and cucumbers week after week.

ATG needs your help. We are hoping to raise $5,000 in order to offer 9 shares to food insecure High Country residents. With your gift of $30, $60, or $100, we can supply food for even more families in 2021!

Showing love to your neighbors in this way has direct impact on a small, local farm while at the same time offering nutritious food to High Country families during this critical time.

We thank you again for your continued love and support.
